Satire gets Israeli journalist sacked

News Alert: Bir Zeit University

The Israeli Occupation Forces have closed the Ramallah-Birzeit Road. It is important to note that this is the first time the Ramallah-Birzeit Road has been totally closed, prohibiting even pedestrian traffic, since the start of the current semester on September 13, 2003. This year, the number of students accepted into the University reached over 1500 and the number of students reached a record high of over 6,000 students. Read more >>

for 'plea and directions' hearings. The charges are mainly of conspiracy
and/or criminal damage, and many of the defendants spent time in prison

News from Nablus

Yesterday morning Israeli forces imposed a curfew on the Old City of Nablus, announced on local television and radio, in response to the third suicide attack in the last 7 days, this time in Jerusalem. Tanks, jeeps and other IDF vehicles entered the city to enforce the curfew and carry out searches for Hamas members thought to be hiding in the city. 14 men have been reported arrested; one 16 year old boy was found in possession of explosives. International law tested at Gloucester Crown Court

PRESS RELEASE: At 10 am on Friday 20th June 2003 at Gloucester Crown
Court, a hearing is expected to decide if peace
activists can use international law as a defence.
Philip Pritchard and Toby Olditch [1], known as `The
B-52 Two', who are currently remanded to HMP
Gloucester, are charged with conspiracy to cause
criminal damage when they tried to disarm a B52
warplane at RAF Fairford in March 2003 [2]. Supporters
will gather outside the court for The B52 Two and six
other peace activists who are in court for similar
