Peace in parliament
Brian Haw
Tonight the same debate is taking place, and with new wars to be fought, there is new peace to create.
Brian Haw is a champion of peace. For the past 6 years he has been camped in Parliament square with a never ending series of display about peace and the atrocities of war. He has not left the square... until now. He, and a devoted support team have walked from London to Oxford over the last four days to take part in this monumental debate. During their trip they have staying at various peace centers along the way, encouraging people to stand up for peace effective ways. This afternoon his group will visit the Oxford Action Resource Center and the Oxford Friends Society to meet with local peace workers.
At tonights debate their will be a chief marshal among other debaters, lets hope by talking WITH peace activists like Brian, we will be able to convince them that there are better ways to build a united world than war.
