No platform for fascists at the Oxford Union - rally and protest

To everyone in Oxfordshire opposed to fascism:

The statement launched by Unite Against Fascism calling for the Oxford Union to withdraw its invitation to holocaust deniers Nick Griffin and David Irving to speak at a free speech forum received overwhelming support in just a few days from key trade union and student bodies in Oxford. It is also drawing growing support nationally (see list at end of this message).

A 30 strong organising meeting with Unite Against Fascism, Oxford University students, and union representatives agreed to hold a rally with prominent speakers, and a protest on the night of the Oxford Union debate if the invitation to Griffin and Irving is not cancelled.

We are calling on all signatories to the statement and everyone opposed to fascism and racism to help make the rally and protest huge events to send a clear message that Oxford that there is no place for fascism in Oxford. Please use this email and attached leaflets to build the events. Higher resolution rally leaflet available on request.

No Platform for fascists in the Oxford Union
Rally - 7.30 p.m. Tuesday 20th November, Oxford Town Hall, speakers to be confirmed (I will send email to confirm line up as soon as finalised).
Protest 7 p.m. 26th November, Oxford town centre - exact venue to be announced at rally.

17th Nov Friday 1.15 - 2 p.m. leafleting East Oxford Mosque, Manzil Way
18th Nov Saturday 12-2 Cornmarket
