More and more people are beginning to realise that New Labour's market reforms are fundamentally undermining the NHS. Our public health system is being transformed to a "for profit" system which will cost us all more, both in terms of the amount we have to spend on health, and what we will be able to receive back in healthcare.
April 2008 is the deadline by which NHS Trust have to transform themselves to Foundation Hospitals or Social Enterprises. This will mark the start of a free for all market system.
Should the new organisations fail to make the books balance they will be taken over by other companies.
Multi-national health corporations will be able to bid for and run our health services for a profit. The NHS will exist only as a brand badge to be hung on any organisation that sells health.
Please display the attached poster in your workplace, local shop or front window and join us on the day of action.
Thanks.
