The community kitchen has opened and is being regularly used by different sectors of the community.
The Main Hall and Upstairs Hall have been refurbished.
The upstairs rooms have lively new tenants - BK.Luwo and Arise in one room and the Oxford Action Resource Centre in the other.
The OARC has connected the entire EOCC to broadband, and has begun to provide free internet access for the community.
The Befriending Network has secured funding and refurbished their space.
The Social Club has also been redecorated, and has switched to volunteer staffing, with a massively increased membership. It has welcomed the Catweazle Club, OX4 Drum n Bass and Beat Root crews in addition to its regular music nights with Mish Mash, Arawak, Addis Ababa and Cornerstone. The Club looks forward to getting a later licence this month until 12 midnight.
Regular party events are once more taking place in the downstairs hall after a gap of three years.
Regular fitness and other classes continue to take place, and the community arts work of Fusion continues to thrive.
If you're already a member, come along to the AGM to have a say in the future of the EOCC. If you're not, you can join on the night (it's free!).
Especially, the East Oxford Community Association is looking for new trustees (committee members) to take on an area of responsibility so that the community centre can continue to go from strength to strength.
So come along tonight and get involved!
