12 April - 29 May Modern Art Oxford Café, Pembroke Street, Oxford
'When I first came here' says one young African woman, 'I just wanted to cry all the time. And now I have learned to laugh again.' This is the third exhibition of photographs and writing by young asylum seekers in Oxford for the Oxford Literary Festival. Young asylum seekers revisit their journey from the time they first arrived in a strange place to where they find themselves today. What have they found most difficult? Who has helped them? How have they managed to adapt to a new life, new people, a new school, sometimes even a new language? Poignant words and vibrant photographs combine to make this a memorable exhibition.
