War recruiters disrupted in Oxford

a purple pixie | 06.10.2010 16:39 | Anti-militarism | Iraq | Palestine | Oxford

This evening, the Officer Training Corp (OTC) stall at Oxford University Freshers' Fair developed a conscience, grew legs, and walked away(!), leaving the organisation severely lacking in propaganda with which to indoctrinate young minds..

Military recruiters for the OTC were bewildered to discover, part-way through the annual "Freshers' Fair" that their entire display board, covered in glossy photos and cheesy slogans about 'adventure' and 'fun' had disappeared.

This comes exactly one week after some brave individuals disrupted a similar stall at St Andrews Freshers Fair in Scotland, coating the propaganda blood-red and leaving behind an elephant with the word 'Afghanistan' on it:

(That report includes a more in-depth critique of the OTC than I have time to write here).

As that group said: "the time for politeness is over".

One can only presume that the display board itself became uncomfortable with the murderous and deceitful use to which it was being put, and walked away when no-one was looking.

Of course, there are still plenty of targets for action at the Fair; the RAF and Navy were both nearby and also deserve a pixy visit.

And there are plenty of other things you can do..

Unjust War, Illegal Violence

06.10.2010 18:40

Send the troops home immediately and cause them, at trades union rates, to re-tool the entire industrial revolution to wind, tidal, and solar power which transforms to electricity and is more power than can be used by society. No more blackouts. This non-pollution solution is given freely in natures kinder laws and provides work for all and forever more. Viva socialist liberation. End pollution wars, not endless wars for more and more pollution.

NUREMBURG TRIALS: (1945) Chaired by U.S. Judge Jackson wrote into international law that the planning and doing of 'aggressive war' is the supreme international crime on earth as it actuates all other crimes high, low, big and small, in a chain reaction of events globally. He further says it is the supreme international crime whether Germany does it or the U.S.A. does it. This unjust illegal war is committing the worst sort of crimes possible on the planet earth as indicated by the Nuremburg Trials, which is an anti-fascist covenant setting the liberation side of all nations to be the ending of aggressive war as any nations foreign pollicy. This concurs with the Canadian First Division that fought long and hard to bring into being the anti-fascist covenants which set liberation as ending aggressive wars, and not to continue to engrandize them for lying politicians, whose hidden agenda is ownership and control of the middle east oil, the erstwhile Holyland of the world.
