The peace march and picnic at USAF/ ‘RAF’ Croughton, which now seems to have become an annual event, took place on Saturday 24 September. As anticipated, the number of participants was lower than before, only around 40-50, as so many had decided to take part in the London march called for the same day.
However, it was a highly enjoyable occasion with perfect early autumn weather, warm and sunny, though one or two people nearly lost their shoes while walking through the muddier sections of the bridleway round the base. We had a variety of music to accompany the proceedings including guitars, a saxophone, and the Sea Green Singers. There was excellent vegetarian food including homemade soup and cakes.
Speakers included Juliette McBride, Rip Bulkely, and Lindis Percy of CAAB (Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases, http://www.caab.org.uk/) who stressed the importance and sinister nature of ‘RAF’ Croughton.
I hope to receive a copy of Lindis’s speech in the near future, which I will publish to the newswire.

I would like to see those giant randomes dismantled and put back in their boxes and sent back to the US. They are definitely used to support US military operations - and are probably part of the command chain for the 400+ US nuclear weapons sited in Europe.

As a local resident i feel it is vital that the nation knows what is happening within the British countryside at these unsightly constructions.Until they are all demolished and converted to some useful purpose i for one will continue to campaign against their presence.

As a local resident I feel it is vital that the nation knows that it is properly defended against the very real threats from both outside and within, that you liberal types seem to be oblivious to. The British countryside is of course enhanced by these somewhat beautiful constructions. Until they finally replaced by better technology, i for one will continue to ignore those who campaign against their presence, and I implore those in power to do the same. I notice the numbers were boosted by children - don't forget to wash between those ears now little Johnny!

Idiot, sorry "rustler", claims the peaceful protest numbers were boosted by children.
Well, they would be wouldn't they. It is well that children, unlike some "so called" adults, actually are aware that "killing or aiding and helping to kill" is ILLEGAL in British and International Law.
Therefore, so called "supporters" of Military Radomes and the like are, by implication, aiding and helping to "kill", by justifying these military items that guide and control strategic military operations that go on to "Kill".........well, children, actually, around the world.
So, my dear "Rustler". Not only do you appear to be an irritating turd on the shoe, but, are possibly, by implication, a Killer too. It is "illegal, arrestable and imprisonable" to kill or support killing.
Think on that while you sweat, snipe and smell.
In peace and solidarity
