This is a call for an initial brainstorming meeting
for all those who're interested in forging links
between Oxford and Birzeit Universities; whether
you're a student, researcher or a member of faculty.
We would like to explore links on a number of levels:
First to give our support to the Right to Education
Campaign; and second to forge links between
Oxford University and Birzeit, not only of students
but also faculty, as part of our project of twinning
between Oxford and Ramallah (Birzeit Uni being as part
of Ramallah!).
I would like to propose meeting next week. I would be
grateful if you could let me know by email if you're interested and your preferable time for the meeting.
Many thanks,
Mahmoud Hawari,
Chair,
Oxford Palestine Solidarity Campaign

Well sarcasm aside, I suspect they didn't mean the old poly otherwise they'd have used its name (Oxford Brookes). What I suspect will happen is that all the left wing students will back the idea, and all the right wing students will argue ferociously against it, and the apathetic apolitical majority could go either way.
Whichever uni it is though, I reckon both should do it. Then that could pave the way for a wider link involving the town of Oxford itself. (Except that usually in these places, there's quite a big town - uni divide and students and non-students don't really talk to eachother).
