St Giles Fair

You haven't even said what St. Giles Fair is!

Photos are all very nice, but a text report is much better than nothing...

I assumed that most people in Oxford would know what St Giles Fair is, and that energies would be better spent getting the views of people attending. But basically, it's a funfair which has been held at the start of September in St Giles since the 1600's. St Giles day is September 1st, so it used to a part of the celebrations of the people in St Giles parish. Now in our secular society, it's essentially changed into family fun and something to take the sting out of kids returning to school.

(by the way, Indymedia works by everyone and anyone contributing. The info above took me about 5 mins to find off the internet and write up.
